Tackling Pulse Markets and Stability

Pulses play a significant role in enhancing global food and nutrition security, environmental protection and enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. However, significant market access challenges are creating trade unpredictability, limiting the sector’s ability to fully realize its potential to contribute to food security objectives.

In advance of the International Year of Pulses in 2016, the Global Pulse Confederation, CICILS, will hold a side event during this year’s meeting of the Committee on Commodity Problems (CCP) in Rome. Please join us as we focus on pulse examples from four continents that will be valuable to all commodity trade discussions that aim to develop well-functioning trade policies and stable markets at the local and international levels.
