CFS50 Registration is Open!

Registration is now open for the 50th session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS)! This hybrid event will take place 10 – 13 October, with the in-person portion taking place at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Headquarters in Rome, Italy. This will be the first in-person CFS since 2019.

Discussions at the CFS50 plenary session will focus on the 2022 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World Report and responses to the global food crisis, endorsement of the Voluntary Guidelines on Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment, endorsement of policy recommendations on Promoting Youth Engagement and Employment in Agriculture and Food Systems, review of the CFS Multi-Year Programme of Work including selection of a theme for the 2024 report of the CFS High-Level Panel of Experts, launching of a policy process on Data Collection and Analysis Tools, and monitoring of the CFS Principles for Responsible Investments in Agriculture and Food Systems. The CFS 50 Provisional Agenda is available here.

Historically, the Private Sector Mechanism has been able to take the floor and give a voice to the private sector. The week of CFS will also feature a series of 32 side events that will focus on the topics being discussed. The private sector is thrilled to announce that we will be co-hosting 4 side events during this year’s CFS. These events will focus on gender diversity, zero hunger, soil health, and the voice of farmers. A schedule has not yet been announced.

Through 2020 and 2021 CFS sessions continued through a virtual format with a High-Level event taking place in 2020 and three virtual sessions taking place in 2021. With CFS50 taking place in a hybrid format, we hope to see our delegation continue to grow across SMEs, MNEs, farmers, corporations, and from around the world.

We want to invite you to give a voice to the private sector! Join us for CFS50, either in-person or virtually, and help us to give a voice to define and deliver the private sector’s commitment to addressing global poverty and food security. To join our delegation please email ashleigh@emergingag.com noting your interest. Travel costs to Rome are not covered so please do be prepared to self-fund those. We hope to see you there!
